The nearby Cradle Mountain offers even more spectacular views for nature buffs. Gaze in awe at jagged rock faces and cascading waterfalls under the shelter of ancient tree canopies, and of course, keep an eye out for rare Tasmanian Devils and Eastern Quolls. While you're in the area, why not explore the stunning Lake Saint Clair National Park, or for those slightly more adventurous, take a quad bike ride through forests of old myrtles and alpine eucalypts.
In addition to its mesmerising landscapes, the city is also host to some great events throughout the year, including the Devonport Jazz Festival and the Harvest Festival, a celebration of the exceptional produce that the local area has to offer.

Another great option for a day trip is a drive out to Leven Canyon in Ulverstone – In addition to the beautiful rock formations and waterfalls of the canyon you can see Australian Wildlife at the Wings Wildlife Park, or head underground and tour the spectacular Gunns Plains Cave System.
