This unassuming borough is often overshadowed by nearbyWerribee, but it has it’s own undeniable charm and plenty of fun things to explore. Stay a while and you’ll start to discover its unique charm.
Splash down at Aquapulse
If you’re keen to ride the biggest waterslide in Victoria, then Aquapulse is the place to go. In addition to the giant waterslide, there’s a whole range of fun activities to explore here. There’s pools, a gym, spa and sauna, a playground of the kids, and even a creche so you can enjoy some much needed solo time. Pack your bathers and enjoy all the splashy fun on offer here.
Let the children play
One of the biggest and best indoor play centres in Victoria, Wonderland Playcentre has an enormous multi level playground for the kids to explore, along with a giant inflatable slide. They have a separate toddler-friendly area for the under threes, so the little ones don’t get bowled over by bigger more rambunctious kids, and their themed party rooms are highly praised. They have a well-stocked café as well, so you won’t mind spending a bit of time here while the kids rampage.
Coffee Hit on the Go
Sometimes, you just need a caffeine hit and you need it fast, but if you’re the kind of coffee connoisseur that doesn’t want to sacrifice quality for speed then you’re in luck. The Latte Cartelle offer a coffee drive-thru experience second to none – they promise a quality barista made coffee in 90 seconds or less. Whatever your favourite brew, they’ll make it just the way you like it, and there’s a range of quick-grab snacks as well so you can refuel on the go.
Be cool at The Ice Centre
Ice Skating is always heaps of fun, and Hoppers Crossing has you covered with their Ice Centre. It’s usually open just for groups, so assemble your posse and book in advance. Once you’re there you can strap on your skates and impress everyone with your cool moves. They do group lessons too, in case your skating needs a little polish, or maybe you’d like to try and tackle some ice dancing moves – the choice is yours.
Ride the Rocket
Grange Reserve is the best outdoor playground for miles around – its tall rocket design is a tower of fun for kids of all ages. There are three slides and a whole array of climbing activities for intrepid explorers. There are also plenty of bike and walking trails winding their way through the beautiful park, and there is plenty of shade, making summer outings a lot more pleasant. With a small supermarket right across the road and some great picnic areas you can enjoy a pleasant lunch here too.
Boardwalk Stroll
The Heathdale Gen Orden Wetlands Centre has thirty-five acres to explore, and you won’t even need to get your feet wet. They have a boardwalk that takes you right across the lake, where you can see all the native flora and fauna that call the lake home. This is a birdwatching paradise and a lovely place for a walk.
