As the weather warms up, the city of Adelaide is a beautiful place to visit and the beaches are beckoning.

Soak up the sun, enjoy fish and chips on the sand or watch stunning sunsets at one of Adelaide’s beaches.

Glenelg Beach

Glenelg Beach is a popular tourist destination, just 12 kilometres from the city. There are plenty of museums and galleries, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to keep you busy. There’s also Beachouse, a fun-filled amusement complex complete with waterslides and dodgem cars.

If you’re travelling to Glenelg Beach you can leave your Hertz Adelaide car rental behind and take a tram from the city. 

Brighton Beach

Not far from Glenelg is Brighton Beach, another popular beach in Adelaide. Brighton Beachis known for its art deco feel and long jetty. There are many cafes with outdoor seating where you can enjoy some food and bask in the sunshine. The beach is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers and is great for swimming and there are plenty of walks along the cliffs and trails.

Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliot

If you are looking for a beach that’s perfect for swimming and body surfing, Horseshoe Bay is the spot for you. Horseshoe Bay is a picturesque and sheltered bay and is home to some of South Australia’s best fish and chips.

Boomer Beach

A renowned surf beach with big waves, Boomer Beach is not for rookies. If you’re not an experienced surfer, Boomer Beach is still worth a visit, as it’s a great place to lookout for the southern right whale.

Black Point Beach

Black Point Beach is another beautiful beach with plenty of things to do. It’s great for swimming, fishing, sailing, boating and crabbing. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area as well.

Victor Harbor

Another beautiful part of South Australia, Victor Harbor is the place to go for stunning views, encounters with wildlife, swimming and surfing. There are plenty of pubs as well as cafes and restaurants, different beaches within the area including surf beaches like Petrel Cove, and fun experiences like the Greenhills Adventure Park. You’ll also come across Little Penguins and Southern Right Whales.
