Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility banner

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is an invaluable organisation in Central Australia, saving lives of Australians in remote areas since 1928. Visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service Tourist Facility and take a look behind the scenes. Learn all about the history of the service and see how it all works.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility gives you the opportunity to gain some insight into the Royal Flying Doctor Service and its founder, Reverend John Flynn.

Museum

There’s plenty to see in the museum to keep your mind stimulated for hours. You can see for yourself what it’s like to be inside a Pilatus PC 12 Aircraft in the full-size replica, take a look at historic radios such as the Traegar Pedal radio and learn about communicating in the days before the telephone. There are displays with interactive information portals and displays filled with historical medical equipment. There’s also a 70 seat theatre where you can sit back and watch a short film on the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the amazing stories they have to tell.
