If you’re looking for a laugh or want to give your stomach muscles a good work out, head to the 2013 Sydney Comedy Festival! The Sydney Comedy Festival is an annual event showcasing talented comedians from all over the world.

When, Where and How Much?

The Sydney Comedy Festival 2013 features a range of events running from 22 April to 1 May. The shows are held at different times and on different days so check the event guide to find a show that works for you. They also take place at various venues across Sydney including at iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House, the Enmore Theatre and the Factory Theatre. Your Hertz Sydney Airport car hire will definitely come in handy – you can find your way to any of the venues without having to worry about navigating Sydney’s public transport system. Make sure you check the venue for details of parking and let your rental car’s GPS do the rest of the work for you.

Of course different events, times and locations also mean different prices. Check the event guide for specific pricing information. Depending on the show, you could be paying anywhere from $15 to $70 for admission. The shows will sell out so make sure you purchase your tickets in advance.

The Acts

There are a range of acts showcasing both international and Australian comedians all set to deliver their best lines. Comedians from all over the world will be flying to Sydney to take part in the festival. Comedians from the United States include the raunchy Margaret Cho, Eddie Ifft and the one and only Tracey Morgan, star of 30 Rock. From Britain there will be the sarcastic Jack Dee as well as Gina Yashere. Flying from South Africa for his first ever Aussie show is Trevor Noah.

And of course there will be some Aussie locals showing off their skills, including:

-  Paul McDermott
-  Lawrence Leong
-  The Axis of Awesome

In addition to individual performances there are also some exciting compilation performances planned so you can sample the best of the best. For example, there’s the Rights! Comedy! Action! show. This is a women’s rights themed event which showcases some of Australia’s funniest female comedians.

There’s also A Laugh a Minute – an hour long show featuring 60 comedians. This means each comedian is given just 60 seconds each to make you laugh. The University of New South Wales Roundhouse will be hosting the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase which is a cracker line-up featuring the best of the festival. The funniest acts from the entire festival are handpicked and packed into one hilarious event.
