1 November - Elder Park
This all ages fun run promises to be a spectacular event. Held at night time, the 5km race takes participants through a specially designed course, with pop, rock, house and disco zones. It will be supporting anxiety and depression charity, beyondblue.
15 November - Festival Theatre
The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will be performing scores from Pixar films, along with scenes from the movies. There will be two performances – one at 2pm and one at 7.30pm. The films on the agenda include the Toy Story, Cars and Monster’s Inc series, The Incredibles, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, Brave and Up!
21-23 November - Adelaide Showground
One for the diary, Adelaide’s Bowerbird Bazaar is held twice a year. This crafty market features products from the state’s top artists and designers – furniture, textiles, jewellery, homewares. clothing, stationery and much more. If you are interested in working with clay, cardboard, gems, ceramics, leather – there are workshops to help you hone your skills at Bowerbird Bazaar. Food and drinks stalls will be selling fine coffee, whole foods and treats as well as ciders, beers and wines.
22 November - Bonython Park
Taking a cue from the Indian festival of Holi, Color Me Rad promises to live up to its name. It’s a 5km course in Bonython Park, and runners come in white shirts. While they start off clean, they will at various points be showered in explosions of vibrant colour (non toxic corn starch). There will be three waves of runners, with starting times at at 9am, 9.20am and 9.40am. Special Olympics South Australia will be the charity benefiting from the Adelaide Color Me Rad run.
22-23 November - Adelaide Showgrounds
Since its inception in Sydney in 2002, this Comic-Con style pop culture expo has expanded to six cities. Fans of film, cartoons, comics and gaming can expect to see celebrities from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, True Blood and The Hobbit among others.
