As the weather takes a turn for the warmer, Perth comes alive with something on almost every day. 25 October - Swan Valley
Half an hour from central Perth, Swan Valley is a true hidden treasure. Get out of the city and head to this Oktoberfest inspired festival, now in its second year. Attendees design their own itinerary for the day. Choose your preferred winery or brewery – Feral Brewing or Oakover Wines – to start off the morning. A German lunch will satisfy hungry stomachs. Later in the day, buses transport participants to Belvoir Amphitheatre to round off the day with the Welcome to the Valley music festival.
26 October - Angove Street
Angove Street in North Perth will come alive with more than 100 stalls and a bevy of free entertainment, celebrating the retailers and eateries that make up this community. Two entertainment stages, a kids’ zone and cuisines from around the world mean there’s something for everyone. Pick up some early Christmas gifts from the array of uniquely West Australian handmade arts and crafts.
26 October - Bather’s Beach
Half an hour from Perth, Fremantle hosts a one day seafood festival. The Fremantle Seafood Festival revolves around the Tastes of Fremantle stage, where celebrity chefs step into the central spotlight to present their favourite dishes. There will be a number of market stall where exhibitors ply their culinary wares. This year it is also launching a ‘seafood trail’ of activities, finishing at the Bather’s Beach precinct, which will include fishing demonstrations and a host of child friendly activities.
7 November - Riverside Drive
A unique pop up event at twilight, Sets in the City will run from 5pm to midnight. The event features food and drinks stalls and a great lineup of entertainment. Sip crafty beers, wines and cocktails to the atmospheric lighting, to the tunes of American DJ duo CLASSIXX with Mark Farina, and other Aussie acts.
