With Christmas fast approaching Perth is gearing up for the silly season and getting festive. From Christmas markets for a spot of last minute gift shopping to Christmas concerts and carols, here are some pre-Christmas events to check out with your Perth car hire.

OnWilliam Summer Night Markets

December 12 – 13 - Perth Cultural Centre

 

Plan for a shopping experience like no other, with a pop up bar, street food stalls, Urban Orchard and wetland stage. Local designers will be selling gifts, homewares, stationery and accessories. Also look out for retro fashion finds from vintage vendors.

Christmas Carols & Craft Fair

December 13-14 - Spice Rd Grove, Cecil Ave

 

Southwest of the city, Canning will be hosting a special Christmas fair with gifts from around the world on sale. On Saturday the fair will run from 10am to 10pm, with the carol concert kicking off at 7.30pm. A special visit from Santa will accompany the Rossmoyne Community Singers, the Canning City Brass Band and The Avenue Jazz Ensemble. On Sunday the fair will run from 10 am to 5 pm.

 

Santa’s Christmas Carnival 2014

December 14, 11am to 5pm - Claremont Showground

 

Santa’s Christmas Carnival is Western Australia’s biggest Christmas event for all ages. Ticket entry gives you access to all the rides and activities. From rodeo to motocross to circus, as well as animals, a water playground and face painting, there is bound to be something for all the family.

 

London Court Snow Show

December 13 – 24 London Court

 

London Court in the city will be transformed into a winter wonderland with daily ‘snow shows’ at 11.45am and 1.15pm. Head along to check it out for yourself.

 

Carols by Candlelight

December 21, from 7.30pm - Supreme Court Gardens, Perth

 

Bring a rug and a picnic along to this concert. Gates open at 4pm and children’s activities begin at 6.30pm, with music starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will only be available at the gate (no pre sales) with all proceeds going to local charity to support people in need. Thousands of families are expected to turn out to sing along with Tom Burlinson (The Man from Snowy River), Robbie Anderson (The Voice Kids) and Jay Weston, The Perth Carols Orchestra and an enormous choir. At the end of the event there will be a spectacular fireworks finale.
