It’s party season at the Gold Coast. With Christmas fast approaching the region is gearing up for the silly season and getting festive. Make the most of it and get amongst the vibe. Here are some pre-Christmas events to check out with your Gold Coast car hire.

Broadbeach Christmas Carols

December 13, 2014 - Kurrawa Park, Old Burleigh Road

The annual Broadbeach Christmas Carols in Kurrawa Park kicks off at 3pm and carries on under the stars. Kids will be entertained with a Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary show, sack races and Christmas and circus activities. From 6pm the carolling begins in earnest. There’s a star line up of performers set to celebrate Christmas, including Marina Prior and Denis Walter, along with the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, Gold Coast Choir, Santa, Broadbeach elves and many more.

Christmas in Surfer’s Paradise

From December 13 – 24, 2014, celebrate Christmas in true Australian style in Surfers Paradise. Visit Santa at the beach – where his surf sleigh will be pulled along by kangaroos. Here young ones can post their Christmas wish letter and snap a photo for free with Santa in the afternoons under a massive festive light display.

Surfers Paradise Carols on the Beach

December 21, 2014 - Surfers Paradise

As part of the Christmas in Surfer’s Paradise programme, Surfers Paradise Carols on the Beach will take place on the beach from 6.30pm. It’s the Gold Coast’s biggest Christmas carols event. Bring a picnic blanket along and settle in for an evening of uniquely Aussie entertainment, featuring Rachel Beck, Candice Skjonnemand, Maske, Figaro, and the Paradise Kids Choir. Santa is sure to make an appearance at some point, as well. The night ends with fireworks – always a surefire crowd pleaser.

Carols on the Broadwater

December 20, 2014 - 1 Macarthur Parade, Main Beach

Carols on the Broadwater 2014 will be fundraising for the Salvation Army. From 3pm a local choir will be entertaining, Santa will appear at 5.30pm and the waterfront restaurant opens at the same time. Glow sticks, face painting and a marine parade are also on the schedule.
