Fees and Surcharges

Administration Fee

A percentage rate as noted on the Rental Agreement in relation to administration functions undertaken.  The admin Recovery Fee is charged at 3.5%.

Credit Card Surcharge

Rentals paid for by a valid credit, Visa/Mastercard debit or charge card from all Hertz Corporate locations and certain Franchisee locations will be subject to a maximum card surcharge rate of 1.35% (including GST).

Vehicle Registration Fee

A fee to cover cost of registration fees for Hertz vehicles. This recovery fee reimburses Hertz for Registration and compulsory third party insurance imposed by the various State and Territory Registration Authorities. VRR is charged as a daily rate and applies to all rental days. For ‘extra hours’ charges the VRR will be charged as a full day.

Vehicle Registration Fee charge: AUD$9.35 per day including GST

Location Fee

A charge noted on the Rental Agreement where the renter collects the vehicle from/or returns the vehicle to particular location including but not limited to airport and downtown locations. The location fee varies from location to location and is levied as a percentage of other charges as shown on the Rental Agreement.

Processing Fees

The amount payable for administrative functions Hertz undertakes including the payment of, or handling of any claim for, any charges and penalties, such as processing of traffic fines, penalties and toll way use (where Toll Cover is not purchased).

Toll Admin Fee                 $38.50 (inc GST)
Infringement Admin fee    $55.00 (inc GST)
