There’s plenty to see and do while residing in Murgon.
Famed for its diverse farming opportunities, Murgon is a great place to taste local produce. With plenty of different crops coming into harvest each year, make sure to try out the olives, grapes, and dairy products, and try out the local wines, too. In fact, one of the favourite ways to spend a day in Murgon is to have a long lunch at a local winery; graze on one of the platters, filled with fresh and local produce, before sampling a glass of wine or two. Some of the wineries to visit include Dusty Hill Vineyard, Clovely Estate, and Barambah Wines. Of course, make sure to try out these local wineries safely, and always have a designated driver to take you from place to place.
Another fantastic way to spend the day is to visit the Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum. Here, you’ll learn all about the rich agricultural heritage of the area, and the importance that dairy has had to the local community. Set out as a village-style complex, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in history, and learn how life was as an early settler in Queensland.
Of course, no Australian town would be complete without some fantastic cafes to spend a morning at. Our highlight would be The Coffee Bar 4605, with fresh food and delicious coffee, it’s a great way to start the day and enjoy the morning.
