After a brief period of unfortunate history, Uganda has reinvented itself as a tourist hub, with travellers streaming in each year to explore what is arguably the best part of Africa. With its stunning natural beauty and abundance of wildlife, Uganda is slowly, but surely, polishing what was a glint back into the Pearl of Africa.
For a small country in terms of size and geographical boundaries, there is plenty that is big about Uganda. Here are a few things worth mentioning – it is home to the world’s tallest mountain range, world’s longest river, and Africa’s largest lake. Add to that the wildlife in Uganda, which is the natural habitat of half of the remaining mountain gorilla population of the world and houses the famed Big Five, which are waiting to be ticked off any traveller’s list.
While recent events in Uganda have caused a great deal of disturbance in the global community, Uganda remains a safe destination in Africa. Driving around is a brilliant way to explore, and you can take in views that are simply spectacular, while you’re in your car hire in Uganda. Just watch out for friendly hippos and other animals!
