Just ten minutes apart from each other, these nature reserves are easy to enjoy in conjunction with one another with a homebase at the tiny cabin on Toowoo Farm in Nunile. Begin your adventures in this region with a visit to Toodyay’sDawn Atwell Nature Reserve. A wildflower wonderland, Dawn Atwell is home to 65 hectares of pristine native vegetation, including the endangered Star Sun Orchid Thelymitra stellata and the Fire Wood Banksia menziesii. The flat terrain makes it easy to explore this peaceful landscape at your own pace, and the abundance of gorgeous flora is the perfect reason to take it slow and stop to smell the roses. Down the road in Nunile, you’ll discover the magnificent Wongamine Nature Reserve. 330 hectares of diverse vegetation, you could spend days traversing this historically important conservation reserve. You’ll find everything from the Mottlecah’s Eucalypt flower and the Brown Mallet to the Drummond’s Gum and the Salmon Gum.
Explore a Wildflower Haven at Wongan Hills
An hour’s drive north of Toodyay and Nunile, Wongan Hills’ Reynoldson Floral Reserve can be found nestled into a backdrop of lush bush. This spectacular array of over 1000 species of wildflowers is best visited between October and December each year when the flowers are in full bloom. To really make the most of this spectacular display of flora, consider visiting Reynoldson in November for the Reynoldson Reserve Festival. It’s a photographer’s wonderland stretched out across an area of easy walkways and vivid scenery. Wongan Hill is also home to a collection of other ways to experience the beauty of wildflowers, including Christmas Rock, Gathercole Walks, Mount Matilda and Mount O’Brien. 
Watch the Bush Come Alive in Dalwallinu
Only fifty minutes north of Wongan Hills, Dalwallinu makes for the ideal final stop on your wildflower journey. This farming town is known for its springtime flowers that colour the landscape. There are plenty of walking trails that you can venture out on to discover this flora-rich bushland, with the Dalwallinu Remnant Bushland a popular destination for observing these pops of vibrant colour covering the hills and plains.
