16 kilometres north of Brisbane, you'll find the sunny suburbofBoondall. Enveloped in abundant landscapes and verdant wetlands, the area is a great place to visit for anyone looking for a little bit of serenity.
The highlight of this area is its spectacular nature reserve. A stroll through the Boondall Wetlands will take you past burbling creeks, through dense greenery, and if you go far enough, along sweeping beaches. The bushlands offer an excellent place to watch the local wildlife and spot wading birds. From September to March you may even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of a migratory bird from as far away as Alaska, China or Japan.
If cycling is more your speed, you might like to make the trip all the way to Redcliffe on wheels. It's quite a long ride, but will take you through the lively wetlands, past beachside towns, and across a bridge with endless bay views before you reach your destination. When you get there, a dip in the Settlement Cove Lagoon is the perfect way to ease your tired muscles.
And if you're looking for a little entertainment while you're away, Boondall is also home to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Here you'll find local and touring musical acts, performances, as well as sporting events. Or, pull on your skates and go for a twirl on the ice rink.
