Noble by name and noble by nature, this suburb has earned its reputation as a leafy suburban haven that tends to encourage people to linger. An abundance of scenic trees, a vibrant local food scene and a thriving community combine to make Noble Park utterly charming. Add in some great shopping and plenty of things for the kids to enjoy and you’re onto a winner for sure.
Let the children play
The G J Duggan Reserve Playground is one of the standouts of the area – it has large fields for soccer and basketball so the older kids can play to their hearts content. If that wasn’t enough, it also has a great open plan playground with slides, swings, a flying fox and all manner of installations to climb and clamber on. The perfect place to let the kids burn off some excess energy, there’s a BBQ area here too so you can feed the hungry hordes as well. There really is something for everyone here, so you might find yourself lingering a few extra hours.
Clip in and Climb Up
This is an indoor climbing centre with a difference – Crazy Climb has all sorts of interesting climbable installations – a beanstalk, several walls, a pirate ship and some wonky ladders just to name a few. Their staff run you though a safety briefing and make sure your harness is good to go, and then it’s up, up and away for a few hours of fun. Best of all, this climbing centre is collocated with the Lollipops play centre, so if you have teens and younger kids travelling with you, this establishment makes sure everyone is happy under one roof. Buy yourself a couple of hours respite and enjoy a cuppa in the café knowing all your kids are entertained. Then you can get back on the road knowing things are going to be a lot more calm and happy till you get to your next destination.
Make a Splash
The Noble Park Aquatic Centre boats both indoor and outdoor pools so no matter what the weather or season you can comfortably swim here. There’s a fun water playground at the outside pool called “Splash Park” where your little ones can stomp all the puddles they like, and there is also a waterslide for the whole family to enjoy. There’s nothing like a refreshing swim at the end of a long day of driving to ease those aching muscles, and this is the perfect place to indulge.
Op Shop till you drop
The craze for second hand marketplaces only grows, and if you’ve been bitten by the bargain-hunting bug, you’re going to really enjoy exploring all the op shops in Nobel Park and surrounding suburbs. All the major players are represented and there are a number of small independent shops as well where you can find some unexpected treasures. Whether it’s clothing, books or bric a brac that catches your eye, you’re bound to find a new possession that won’t break the bank here.
