Stop in at Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, the artistic and cultural heart of the region and home to a thriving and growing art scene. Located in one of the oldest buildings in the city, this gorgeous gallery is home to an ever-changing rotation of exhibitions. Dive into the history of the region with a wander down the Esplanade to the Museum of Geraldton. Overlooking the marina, this modern museum celebrates the rich history and heritage of the land, sea and people of this special part of Western Australia - a must-see when in town.

Adventure Awaits
No trip to the Coral Coast would be complete without a visit to the spectacular Abrolhos Islands. Roughly 60 kilometres off the coast of Geraldton, this archipelago of 120 islands is fringed with stunning coral reefs and home to a rich array of marine wildlife. The Abrolhos can be easily reached by fast ferry for island day trips, however the absolute best way to gauge the scale and beauty of this unique environment is from the air. One of the best tours on offer is the Fly and Flipper trip, hosted by Shine Aviation Services. The epic tour includes a scenic flight out to the islands, followed by island exploration, snorkelling and a gourmet lunch on the beach, all under the guidance of your own private guide.
Back on the mainland, the Coral Coast is renowned for its endless road trip potential, with beautiful landscapes to be found in every direction you look. From Geraldton, jump in your Hertz rental car and make the one hour journey up the coast to Hutt Lagoon. This large saltwater lake is one of the most unique sights in the region, famous for its bubblegum pink waters. The vibrant hues of the lake are strikingly beautiful, and change throughout the day as the light hits it at different angles. Right next to the lake, you’ll find the small fishing village of Port Gregory, where you’re able to pick up refreshments for your journey, and check out pristine Coral Coast beaches.
Located right at the heart of one of Australia’s most geographically stunning regions, Geraldton is the sort of place that is just waiting to be explored. Dotted with dreamy beaches and enriched with a deep maritime history, you'll feel a sense of calm wash over you the moment you arrive in this laid-back city.
