As a bustling tourist hub, Airlie Beach has a thriving nightlife scene, so if you’re in the mood for a drink and/or a dance,here’s some places you should check out while you’re here.

Mama Africa

Open throughout the week, no matter what night you want to go out you will find a warm welcome at Mama Africa. Local DJs spin tunes for the eager crowd on the zebra-striped dancefloor, and the drinks flow freely as the flare bartenders mix cocktails into the wee hours. There’s lots of theme nights here so cobble together the best costume you can from your luggage’s contents and join the party.

Paddy’s Shenanigans Irish Bar

If live music is your scene, then you’ll love this place. The owners say you don’t have to be Irish to visit, but you may well be by the time you leave. There’s local bands and visiting artists here every night with a range of musical styles on display. With several bands on throughout the evening you’re sure to find something you like here.

Down Under Bar & Grill

This is a party bar that does great pub meals, and offers a regular rotation of DJs and local bands on its busy schedule. With a backpacker vibe, the drink prices are budget friendly and the mood is festive all year round.

Beaches

This party venue attached to a backpackers is open seven nights a week, and once you’ve enjoyed a meal, you can join in on the karaoke and other nightlife events that happen here. There’s live bands every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Djs, trivia and all sorts of fun stuff happening every other night as well. A great place to kick back, relax and have some fun.

Boom Nightclub

If flashing strobe lights, lasers and hard and fast electronica is what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here. Open every night, they have DJ competitions, RnB nights, and drink specials that change every day. Make sure you have your dancing shoes on and join the enthusiastic crowd that congregates here.
