Fish D’Vine and The Rum Bar
This casual restaurant has some of the best seafood dishes you’ll find anywhere. For the ultimate feast, it’s hard to go past their “Seafood Indulgence” platter – a two-tiered tower simply brimming with an abundance of cold and hot seafood. Once you’ve had your fill of oysters, bugs, prawns, salmon and barramundi you should also sample the offerings of their Rum Bar. There’s more than five hundred different rums on offer here from all over the world – whether you like it on the rocks or mixed into an elaborate cocktail you will be well served here. Enjoy a “rum flight”, expertly selected by the rum aficionados here and explore this fascinating and tasty beverage by style, geography, or any theme you can think up – the staff here love a challenge and especially love converting people who don’t think they like rum.
Sorrento Restaurant and Bar
Overlooking the marina and beautiful Pioneer Bay, this is a scenic spot to enjoy a meal. Their Italian inspired menu has plenty of pizza and pastas, with seafood dominating the menu. You can try the local oysters at least seven different ways here, and there are plenty more excellent examples of local produce on the menu.
Whitsunday Seafood Bar
If what you’re looking for is a good old fashioned fish and chippery, then this is one the best in the area. A simple menu with all the favourites you’d expect, this is a great place to pick up a tasty meal fresh from the deep fryer. If fried food isn’t your style, there are also some nice grilled options and salads on the menu.
Village Café
This place right in the heart of town specialises in “hot rock” cooking, where your meal is served on a super-heated slab of rock – it cooks right in front of you at your table. When it’s time for dessert they do an “icy rock” as well, so you can enjoy their boutique ice-creams, sorbets with fruits, chocolates and lollies for you to mix in to create your own unique taste sensation. If that all sounds like too much work, never fear, the chefs are also at hand to do all the preparation if that’s what you prefer.
