It’s impossible to visit Cairns and not get right into a holiday mood – and trying out new places to eat is a great part of any getaway. Try these eateries on for size when you’re in Cairns:

C’est Bon

With a name like this it would be fair to expect the food here to be good – and rest assured, it is – with a delightful tropical twist on traditional French cuisine. This friendly and fun eatery is housed in a quirky gazebo styled Queenslander with a miniature Eiffel Tower perched on top, and a generous al fresco veranda all around. Inside or outside, you’ll enjoy the wide range of classic French dishes on offer for every meal of the day.

Dundee’s on the Waterfront

With views for days right on the waterfront, this is a place you could visit for the outlook alone, but you will also find a fantastic example of modern Australian cuisine at its best here. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Australian Sampler Plate – featuring emu, crocodile, kangaroo, barramundi, prawns and Aussie beef. The rest of the menu is full of Aussie favourites, plenty of seafood and a range of classic desserts.

Bushfire Flame Grill

This Brazilian buffet restaurant is a feast for the senses. Waiters serve skewers of meat ‘Rodizo’ style – walking around the restaurant, knives in hand, to give the eagerly awaiting diners a taste of whatever they fancy direct to their plates. They’ll keep bringing food until you tell them to stop, so settle in for a real feast here. Finish off with some grilled pineapple, encrusted with cinnamon and sugar for a sweet finish.
