One place we recommend spending a lot of time in is the Bay itself. Surrounded by islands, frequented by dolphins, and with a stunning view at all angles, it’s like something out of a dream. Head to Snapper Island, just off Corrigans Beach, or drive up to Holmes lookout in Clyde Bay National Park, where you’ll have views across the expansive ocean.
One activity we always recommend when visiting Batemans Bay is trying out the local seafood. Batemans Bay is at the heart of the Oyster Coast, so you can expect world-class oysters while staying here. Try them out - they’ll certainly be some of the best you’ll ever taste.
Drive across Eurobodalla in your Rental Car
The Eurobodalla region is definitely worth exploring if you have the time. Why not plan a road trip that will take you along the coast and visit each of the coastal towns along the way? With plenty to see, like Tilba, Moruya, Narooma and Broulee, you’ll easily fill up a day experiencing some of the finest coastal areas in New South Wales.
One highlight in the area is the Murramarang National Park, which has plenty of native Australian animals as well as an epic coastline featuring ancient rock formations and ample walking tracks. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the centre of Batemans Bay, so the perfect place to head to get out of town and embrace the fresh air for a day!
Alternatively, just a two-hour drive away is the capital of Australia, Canberra. This is a fantastic city to learn about Australian history, politics, and culture. If you want a break from the coast entirely for a day, head here to experience some of the best museums and galleries Australia has to offer.
